'No quota berth for students who make it on merit'

In the article at http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/NEWS/Cities/Delhi/No_quota_berth_for_students_who_make_it_on_merit/articleshow/1630139.cms the judge rules in favor of reserved category students saying if reserved category students can make it on merit, then they should be given the general category seats.

I dont want to say anything in relation to reservation as the last time we were discussing the topic, we wasted close to 3 hours and a meal at bercos..

Firstly the ruling in this case effectively says that the reserved category students should get an admit at any cost.. if they r good.. then on merit category (or as stated in the article as the GENERAL category) and if not.. then with the help of their fairy godmother.. Arjun Singh..

But in this case, I am forced to say that the students who actually filed the case could not go further down on self esteem if they file a court case saying that the reserved category should be for students without merit.. and if the reserved category students have merit.. then they should not get a seat in the reserved category..
